MeshAtlas

Independent communication. Community-built coverage. Beyond mobile networks and internet dependency.

Community networks in Europe

This directory starts with 60 publicly documented records across 25 countries. It is strongest for Meshtastic because the project maintains a public local-groups directory; selected MeshCore and community LoRaWAN deployments are included where a named community publishes useful network information.

The number beside a country is the number of documented records on MeshAtlas, not a count of nodes, users or independent radio networks. One community may coordinate many relays, while another record may currently be only a developing user group.

Countries with documented networks

Countries not yet documented

Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, Czechia, Iceland, Kosovo, Luxembourg, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Ukraine.

“Not yet documented” does not mean that no nodes or users exist. It means MeshAtlas has not yet found enough public, geographically identifiable information to create a responsible country record.

European radio context

Much of Europe uses spectrum around 868 MHz for low-power devices, but legal limits and sub-band rules still vary by configuration and jurisdiction. Meshtastic, MeshCore and LoRaWAN are separate systems; sharing an antenna band does not make them interoperable. Always follow the published settings of the community you intend to join and the rules applicable at the installation site.

Directory resources

Maps are supporting resources, not proof that every displayed node belongs to a coordinated public network.

Corrections and additions

Community networks change quickly. A listed chat group does not by itself prove continuous radio coverage, and a public map may show only nodes that publish data. If you operate a network that is missing, or a record is inactive or inaccurate, send MeshAtlas its name, area, technology, public links and the date on which the information was checked.
