Oceania’s publicly documented community mesh activity is concentrated in Australia and New Zealand. Australia has several state-level Meshtastic groups and a growing multi-state MeshCore network; New Zealand has national Meshtastic and MeshCore coordination. Papua New Guinea has a historical community LoRaWAN listing.

No qualifying named public Meshtastic, MeshCore or community LoRaWAN network was confirmed during this review. Individual nodes, research deployments and frequency guidance alone do not qualify as community network records.
Territories and associated states not yet documented
American Samoa, Cook Islands, French Polynesia, Guam, New Caledonia, Niue, Norfolk Island, Northern Mariana Islands, Pitcairn Islands, Tokelau and Wallis and Futuna.
Radio compatibility
Australia and New Zealand commonly use Meshtastic’s ANZ region, but that does not make every network interoperable. Communities may coordinate different channels, modem presets and encryption keys. LoRaWAN uses its own AU915 channel plan, while MeshCore communities publish protocol-specific presets.
Pacific island jurisdictions may follow different national or territorial rules. Never infer a legal frequency plan solely from proximity to Australia, New Zealand or a United States territory.
Scope and corrections
- A public community proves organization, not nationwide RF coverage.
- Maps, websites and chat links belonging to one community are not separate networks.
- TTN city lists are aggregated where their present operational state is uncertain.
- Send additions with a public source, service area, technology, current status and exact radio configuration if published.
